The gun is a Gustloff made in 1943 (bcd 43). The bolt is not matching. Does not appear to be import marked. Retains a pleasing patina overall with light surface rust. All markings are clear. Laminated stock shows wear with dings and handling marks. Stock markings are worn off. Good mechanical function. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Original sling. Photocopy of May 11, 1945 dated capture paper that simply state "German Rifle" and do not list the serial number. This gun comes with an original rifle grenade launcher which mounts on the end of the barrel. Both the rifled cup and base are correct, although they may not have always been together as a unit based on condition. There is some moderate pitting on the bottom of the base, although the markings are clear. Leather sight pouch is original, showing wear with strong stitching. Proper cloth strap. Included is a very difficult to find inert original anti-tank rifle grenade. The grenade launcher sight mounted on the rifle is a G-Max reproduction, as is the grenade launcher cup removal tool inside the leather pouch.
