Barrel dated 1-43 and marked "Underwood". All early SG internal parts with "S'G'" in box cartouche on stock. Flip sight is not staked. Type one early band is a reproduction and there exist a slight witness mark from a type 3 band being on barrel at a previous time. Irwin Pedersen had a 100% rejection rate for the M1 carbine they produced during WWII. These guns where then shipped to several manufacturers to be repaired or rebuilt as necessary for immediate issue to U.S. troops. This is restored example of one of these rare and desirable guns. Good overall, high wood stocks are very fine with strong markings and no cracks or material loss. Two rivet hand guard is equally fine with a small wood chip at right rivet. Barrel and action retain over 90% of their arsenal applied finish. These guns where more than likely refinished when assembled by other contractors. Bore and mechanics are very good. CORRECTION: From the collection of Kent V. Bissel.
