Circa 1921, this Featherweight Ideal Grade has 28" London Steel Barrels with 2-5/8" chambers. Full length matted top rib with brass front bead and tops of barrels marked "L.C. Smith Ideal Grade / Hunter Arms Co. Inc., M.F.R.S. Fulton, N.Y. U.S.A". Hunter one trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. Action is engraved in standard Ideal pattern with floral engraving on sideplates and zig zag border engraving. Capped full pistol grip buttstock with 13-1/2" LOP from rear position single trigger with original lined buttplate is checkered in two point pattern. Splinter forearm with banjo roll type release and triangular ebony tip is checkered in 3-point pattern. Accompanied by an old Leg-o-mutton case which is in poor condition. Good overall. Action retains about 25% original case color with some spotting noted. Barrels retain about 70% original blued finish with toning at grip area and a repair to rib extension. Stocks, which appear sound with hunting bumps, some crazing in the original finish and checkering is beginning to thin. Bores are good with beginning roughness. Mechanics are fair. This gun would benefit from gentle cleaning.
