Approximately 7,000 of these newly manufactured cartridge revolvers, based on the percussion design, were manufactured in 1871-72 only. This gun is in near new condition, having been masterfully restored. Retains virtually all of the nickel finish with razor sharp barrel address and roll engraved Naval battle scene on cylinder. You will find matching number 678 on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap and cylinder. The near mint walnut one piece grips are a bit shy to metal. The quality of finish is on par with any nickel gun made by Colt and the craftsman must have been in the master class in that this revolver looks nearly like the day it left the factory. Indexes and locks up like new with a strong bore. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
