The inscription on the butt of this revolver "E.J. MILLER FROM COLT'S EMPLOYEES 8-29-44", according to Colt letter the inscription is not mentioned but this gun was shipped to Edward J. Miller on August 29th, 1944 in a one gun shipment, 2", blued, .38 Special with stocks not listed. It presently wears a pair of rear Mother of Pearl grips with silver medallion. Since the letter does not mention engraving, which was obviously done at Colt prior to shipment and given that the pearl grips fit perfectly, one must assume it was shipped just as it is today. Cylinder shows some light burn, most likely from test fire, but retains virtually all of its original factory blue finish with just a couple of minor storage marks. Pearl grips are near mint. Remains at 99% overall, as new inside and out. Marty Huber notes that the gun was delivered by William Henry, the sales manager at Colt's and a personal friend of his. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection. CORRECTION: Estimate updated
