Approximately 735 of these pistols were manufactured between 1901-09. Standard finish includes high polish royal blue frame, rust blued half octagon barrel, profusely checkered one piece walnut grip and forend, checkered trigger, checkered hammer, rear bridge mounted adjustable sight, Lyman ivory bead front sight. Barrel stamped "REMINGTON ARMS CO ILION NY USA". Left side of frame has the patent dates, the last being April 17th, 1866 with "PS" inspector stamp on left side. There is a 1" flaked area on front grip strap, assorted rubs at bottom of frame and front of trigger guard, and some light high edge wear. Backstrap has 1" of thinning as well. Frame retains approximately 90% of the original fire blue. Excellent wood with some small dents on forend. Fine bore and action. A nice, high grade example of a relatively rare pistol. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
