The most coveted of all Savage 1899 rifles are the early models with the high polish royal blue finished frames. This is reffered to as a model 1899 A and is standard in all respects. Features: Full round barrel, rocky mountain front sight, sporting rear sight, brass cartridge counter, high polish royal blue receiver finish, rust blue barrel finish, case colored lever and buttplate, walnut stock, forend with schneuble. This gun is in phenominal condition, contains 95% brilliant blue on frame, thinning on bridge, with some light freckling. Lever retains brilliant case colors on sides, buttplate retains traces of color. Generous blue on screw heads, 99% blue on barrel, near mint stocks with few impressions. Has a strong rifled bore.
