These pocket versions were the little brother to the large .44 caliber Merwin with the interchangeable barrel system. Made in the 1880's, they were one of the highest quality, finest machined pocket revolvers ever made. This example features full factory nickel, five shot, double action, solid top strap with rib, folding hammer spur with black composite checkerboard grips and case colored hammer. You will find matching serial numbers on butt, cylinder and barrel. This revolver has seen very little use and remains in overall fine condition. Typical wear at muzzle, end of cylinders, light drag line and some freckling on trigger guard, otherwise full 95% or better original factory nickel with razor sharp legends. Near new inside and out. We must make this comment, that while we feel this gun is 100% factory nickel as all edges are sharp the factory did not do a good job of polishing as you will see inclusions in several spots that have nickel over the top but appears to be as it left the factory. Gun indexes and locks up. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
