John Martz was a skilled craftsman in Northern California That took regular Lugers and turned them into something special. Here we have a superb example of one of his Navy Lugers. It was made from a 1923 commercial Luger. This was made up out of a lot of different parts. It has a 1900 toggle assembly with a Navy sight. Custom manufactured barrel The fit and finish is superb compared to any custom gun built today. Claro walnut grips are finely checkered. Magazine bottom has his initials JVM in an oval. Left side of frame has his patent mark of MSTR for patent No. US3956967A "Martz Safe Toggle Release". Gun retains 99% of the deep rust blue and strawed small parts that John applied. Comes in a contemporary case with a box of ammo, two spare navy magazine and loading tool. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
