This special order deluxe carbine was manufactured in 1895. Special features include button magazine and checkered pistol grip rear stock. Blue round nickel steel barrel with correct blade front sight and adjustable ladder rear sight. Fair bore with some frosting. Blue lever action with saddle ring. Case colored hammer and lever. Front and rear walnut stocks with a metal carbine buttplate and barrel band. Rear stock sports two checkered panels at the pistol grip. Front stock has diamond checkered panel. 70% blue on barrel. Receiver has 20% blue. Traces of case color in protected areas on lever and hammer. A scarce antique Winchester 1894. Factory research states: serial number applied August 18th, 1897; shipped July 20th, 1900; serial no. 25172 sent as a .30 caliber carbine with checkered pistol grip stock, half magazine and rubber shotgun butt (this carbine has metal butt).
