An extremely fine and beautifully period engraved Colt No. 3 derringer, serial number 11336 with the desirable high hammer and fine ivory grips, which are numbered to the gun. This lovely derringer retains nearly all of its bright nickel finish with 100% on barrel, one minute peel on right side of frame forward of engraving, and one other small peel on backstrap. Hammer has nearly all original bright nickel. Nickeled screws. Mellow, patinated ivory grips are good with slight damage and tight crack on right panel. Engraving is luxurious and of a high order. Bore is fine, action is excellent. Derringer is cased in a French-fitted silver-bound period case with purple velvet lining.
