Offered is a special order .44-40 full round barrel, full magazine takedown short rifle with special order 8-3/8" walnut forend and standard rifle buttstock. Features full magazine, standard sporting sights, blued finish and sling swivels. Magazine hanger set back approximately 3-1/2". Front sight set at 1" center. CONDITION: Barrel and tube have flashes of original blue but are basically a smooth, homogenous patina. Barrel has sharp legends and frame is basically a grey-brown patina. Screws are pretty sharp. Walnut stocks are proud to metal with usual bumps and bruises. Bore exhibits sharp rifling with very minor abrasion and frost. The 20" takedown short rifle in .44 caliber makes one heck of a backpack type rifle. No factory research available.
