This series of revolvers is Colt's first swing-out military models. Features fixed sight, standard high polish blued finish and two piece walnut grips. Manufactured between 1895 and 1898. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1894 67600". Right grip panels has "RAC" Renaldo Carr inspector mark. CONDITION: Barrel retains 90% or better original factory blue with sharp edges and legends with just usual handling wear. Case colored hammer and trigger have patterned out. Grips are a little shrunk but very good. Fine bore and action. These revolvers were used in the Cuba Campaign and subsequent Banana Wars prior to the introduction of the 1911.
