Circa 1800 to 1820. OL: 57 - 1/2". BL: 42". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. PB: Oval. S: Curly maple. Unsigned. School: Lehigh County. This classic Kentucky rifle architecture is very typical of the Lehigh County (AKA, Allentown) school with the Roman-nose buttstock in highly figured maple. Unfortunately, the flintlock, sideplate, triggerguard, and patchbox sliding wood cover are all modern replacements. Also, the entire forestock from the rear ferrule forward is a modern replacement.
