This percussion Kentucky rifle has a 37" octagonal rifled .36 caliber barrel and is marked "Joseph Gibbons" on the top flat. There are double-set triggers and the very finely "curled" maple stock is original with no added wood. However, there are two brass strips inletted into the top of the stock on both sides of the tang to secure a break on the left-hand side. There is a rectangular German silver inlay on the cheek engraved (with punch dots) "E. Cook." There is a "stag-head" inlay missing on the cheek side. This rifle was still in shooting condition when it was "put away." However, modern collectors preserve this rifles and shoot their contemporary made firearms.

Item Dimensions: Overall: 52 - 1/2" L.
