EARLY POST WAR BROWNING SUPERPOSED GRADE FOUR. BROWNING GRADE 4 20742 12 GA MODERN; C&R; IVORY 12 ga. 30" bbl. 2-3/4" chambers. CHOKED: Mod/Full. Full length matted low profile ventilated rib with twin "certifiable pre-ban ivory" bead sights. Gold plated single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, non automatic safety. Beautiful custom buttstock is capped pistol grip with long tang, checkered in 3-pt pattern and 14-1/4" LOP over Browning white lined waffle pad. Trap forearm checkered in 5-pt pattern. Receiver is finely and beautifully engraved with large fighting cock pheasants on left side in game scene surrounded by scroll and arrow border pattern. Right side engraved with 7 pheasants in wood scene also surrounded by well cut scroll and arrow border pattern. Bottom of frame is nicely scroll engraved with bust of spaniel and pheasant in his mouth, surrounded by nicely cut scroll. Trigger guard, top tang and forearm iron are lightly scroll engraved. WEIGHT: 8 lbs. 3 oz. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 95-98% of an early factory re-blued finish showing great tone and fire and could pass for orig. Buttstock and forearm as noted retain nearly all of their custom high gloss finish with just a coupe of minute handling marks throughout. Receiver is French gray and retains most of an older, likely factory restored, condition. Brilliant shiny bores. Mechanics are crisp. A lovely and scarce trap gun. 49503-66 JSL298 (3,000-5,000)
