SCARCE L.C. SMITH GRADE 5E.L.C. SMITHGR. 5E252612 GaC&R; IVORYCal. 12 Ga. 30" fluid steel bbls. 3" chambers. Choked: FULL/IMP MOD. Full length matted rib with "certifiable pre-ban ivory" front bead and gold bar towards breech marked "MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO., FULTON NY" (additional inscription is indiscernible). Double triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Beautifully figured French walnut, capped full pistol grip buttstock with 13-5/8" LOP over unusual hard rubber checkered buttplate marked "L.C. SMITH / SYRACUSE, NY" with dog on mound. Buttstock checkered in classic 2-point pattern. Splinter forend with roll type banjo release and triangular ebony tip, checkered in near full coverage pattern with diamond pattern encapsulating the opener. Receiver is beautifully and finely engraved with rose and scroll engraving. Two Setters in game scene on left, 2 Pointers in game scene on right, both of which are highly detailed. Bottom of frame are lightly scroll engraved with geometric patterns. Top of frame beautifully scroll engraved. Top lever engraved in floral pattern. Trigger guard is beautifully floral engraved. 3-positon safety, "SAFE" in gold. Weight: 7 lb 8 oz. PROVENANCE: The Estate of B.E. "Andy" Anderson. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, as fully and competently refurbished. Wood and metal retain nearly all their custom finishes with a few scattered light handling marks.
