FINE CIVILIAN COLT MODEL 1860 PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVER. COLT 1860 ARMY 157005 44 CAL Cal. 44. Nice original and complete example of slightly post Civil War Colt Army percussion revolver made in 1866. Gun has fine aesthetics with strong traces of original finish and good markings that shows honest use and good care. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. "Bill" Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Gun is very good overall, all matching SNs including wedge and grips (last number on trigger guard was left off and no doubt a factory mistake). Bbl retains about 20% bright original finish mostly in protected areas, bbl address has some weakness on few letters but all discernible. Front blade sight appears to have been replaced during its time of use. Loading assembly, frame and hammer have traces of muted case color with balance gray/silver. Backstrap and trigger guard retain strong traces of bright blue in protected areas. Cylinder has strong traces of original blue finish in protected rebated area, cylinder scene is about 80-90% visible. Hammer screw appears replaced, otherwise gun appears original and complete. Grips are well fit with hand worn patina retaining strong traces of original factory varnish. Mechanically gun functions well, with bright crisp bore. 49973-111 JS (1,500-2,500)
