EXTREMELY NICE PRE-64 WINCHESTER MODEL 12 16 GAUGE SKEET GRADE GUN. WINCHESTER MODEL 12 819740 16GA MODERN; C&R Cal. 16ga. Chamber factory marked 2-3/4", 26" solid matted rib bbl, Bradley type red front bead, steel mid-bead. Factory marked "WS-1" choke. Skeet style diamond pattern checkered forend. Takedown hammerless pump action. Fluted checkered pistol grip stock with Winchester grip cap and Winchester hard rubber buttplate. Stock exhibits nice grain pattern. 14" LOP. SNs are matching on frame and bbl assembly. Factory "SKEET" marking below SN on receiver, "W" ahead of loading port. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains 97% of its orig factory blue with very minor oxidation peppering scattered. Slight fine scratches on both sides of bbl above forend. Magazine tube retains nearly all factory blue with blue loss just ahead of forend from being taken down. Forearm action bar retains nearly all blue. Factory markings both right and left side of bbl are crisp. Proof mark left side of rib and receiver top. Bore is bright, shiny and unpitted. Receiver retains nearly all of its orig factory blue with very slight and minor pitting areas grouped on left side of receiver above safety which have gone to silver. Extremely minor marks on front edge, left side of receiver from takedown reassembly. This gun shows virtually zero wear on underside, sharp edges and trigger guard. Screws are excellent. Forend retains all of its factory finish, with the most minor of handling marks. Buttstock retains nearly all of its factory finish with minor handling marks and some scuffing to right side of toe area. Checkering is clean and crisp. This Model 12 operates smoothly.
