EXTREMELY RARE FACTORY ENGRAVED REMINGTON MODEL PRE-10 F GRADE SLIDE ACTION SHOTGUN.REMINGTONPRE-10U6143212 GAMODERN; C&RCal. 12 ga. 30" plain bbl with arabesque scroll engraved ledges on both sides of bbl breech approximately 4" long, wedding band engraving where bbl meets receiver. Remington address with patent dates surrounded by engraved border. Bbl takedown ring completely covered with geometric engraving and punch dot borders. Slide action bar treated with scroll engraving with Remington trademark marking. Single front bead. Full marking hand engraved left side of bbl ahead of engraved wedge. Receiver is full coverage F style engraving continuing onto top tang. Left side of receiver is treated to a large scroll oval bordered vignette with three hunting dogs in woodland setting pointing to quail. Balance of receiver covered with foliate type scroll with receiver edges with chain and punch dot border. Right side of receiver with large scroll oval bordered vignette of marsh scene with two ducks, once again with balance covered with foliate type scroll and chain and punch dot borders. Underside of receiver fully engraved with hand engraved SN ahead of ejection port. Trigger bow with foliate scroll and dog head bust in center. SN engraved on grip tang. Gun is mounted in select fancy figured walnut. Forend has been treated to nearly full coverage checkering pattern. Buttstock with full round knob uncapped pistol grip checkered in elaborate pattern. Solid brown recoil pad. Monogrammed gold oval in toe line. LOP 14-3/8". CONDITION: Very good plus. Barrel retains a high percentage of blue with light oxidation under the blue on top of bbl breech through address and patents marking. Blue is thinning at muzzle and has areas of thinning from takedown and cycling. Bright bore. Magazine tube with some blue with the balance going to brown patina with wear marks from the slide. Magazine tube screw may be a replacement with some minor damage around screw hole. Barrel assembly takedown ring with nice blue and some minor areas of blue loss and browning. Several scratches from handling. Lustrous receiver blue showing slight thinning and wear to high edges, especially at bottom. Very light scattered oxidation. Right side receiver screw shows evidence of turning, as does screw in bolt assembly. Trigger guard assembly shows bright blue with fading and slight oxidation on trigger bow. Lower tang is nice with much blue, silvering at edges. Top tang with nearly all blue, showing slight wear from use. Screw shows blue loss and slight marring. Condition of wood is very nice and fits well. Forend finish and checkering may have been freshened with nice look. Buttstock shows freshening, likely with hand rubbed oil, checkering somewhat filled. Recoil pad in nice condition. Mechanics appear crisp and cycles nicely. 50958-7 TJW (7,000-12,000)
