FANTASTIC EARLY "SQUARE SLOT" COLT 1921A THOMPSON MACHINE GUN (CURIO & RELIC). COLT 1921 2212 45 MODERN; NFA; C&R Cal. 45 ACP. 10-1/2" bbl. This Colt 1921A Thompson retains its orig 1921 internal parts and comes with one 50 rnd "NEW YORK N.Y., U.S.A." drum and three 20 rnd "AUG 24 1920" stick mags. Also included is a brass cleaning rod and a reproduction FBI case with key. Consignor states that this beautiful conditioned Thompson came from West Virginia Police and was likely used during the "Coal Mine" wars. Front of stock retains visible Remington proof mark. Upper and lower numbers match. Mechanism operates smoothly with proper spring tension. This weapon appears fully functional. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This item is fully transferable on an ATF Form 3 or Form 4, as Curio & Relic eligible. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent with over 92% deep lustrous blue finish on the upper with about 80% on the lower with most of the loss where the finish is thinning along the high edges and just above and forward of the hand grip. Wood has an attractive dark brown color with numerous light dings & very faint scratches in the buttstock with fewer handling marks on the pistol grip and fore grip. Bore is excellent, shiny and bright. 50 rnd drum & mags retain over 95% orig blue finish. If one ever wanted a Colt Thompson this would be the one to get. The condition is such that it may be shot occasionally and as an early gun with a square actuator slot it makes it just a little more desirable. 50455-2 JWK32 (30,000-50,000)
