TRADITIONALLY STYLED BERTUZZI 28 BORE "VENERE" BEST SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN AND CASE.BERTUZZISXS577228 GAMODERNCal. 28 ga. 26-3/4" Chopper lump bbls with raised, hand matted, flat game rib, are unmarked where visible. Bbl flats are stamped with 1982 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers, and "ARMI BERTUZZI". Unusual case hardened small sized sidelock action features non-automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), bushed strikers, gold line tumbler end cocking indicators, and single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved in exceptionally well cut traditional British style rose and scroll. Action is devoid of makers name, except on water table. Fences are finely relief carved in oak leaf and acorn motif. Single beaded small bow trigger guard is engraved with matching scroll and has SN on tang. Engravers initials "RJC" are on left side of trigger plate. Nicely crotch figured European (?) walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over fully checkered wood butt. Stock features rounded drop points, point pattern borderless checkering at grip, and a vacant gold oval on toe line. Matching beavertail ejector forend with Anson release has gold enameled gold crowned device with foliage inlet into uncheckered central diamond. Bore diameter: left -.555, right - .558. Bore restrictions: left - .027 (full), right - .010 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-7/16" , drop at comb: 1-3/8". Cast: approx 1/8" on. Weight: 5 lbs. 11 oz. LOP: 14-5/8". Brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli is lined in dark olive green felt, with gold embossed brown leather Bertuzzi label stitched into lid, and contains a key. CONDITION: Excellent, showing only very limited use, with a few light handling marks. Blue is thinning at breech areas of bbls. Case hardening colors are silvering a bit on sharp edges. There are firing halos on breechface. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case shows numerous scuffs and marks. Straps and handle are good. Interior is excellent with some compressions. These fine guns are no longer made, as the Bertuzzi Brothers retired a number of years ago. 51071-2 MGM278 (20,000-28,000)
