ATTRACTIVE D. M. LEFEVER HIGH GRADE BOXLOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN UPGRADED TO "6C" STYLE WITH GOLD.D.M. LEFEVERSXS UPGRADE217412 GAMODERN; C&R; IVORYCal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 28" Dramatically patterned Damascus bbls fitted with slightly raised, matted rib, are engraved "FINEST" "DAMASCUS" on tops. There are 1-1/4" triangles of scroll engraving at breech ends which are also embellished with ogee shaped bosses in typical high grade Lefever style. No grade markings are present on bbls flats or on bottoms of bbls. Case hardened, boxlock, crossbolted Lefever action has radiused back, and is fitted with typical knurled roll safety and gold plated single selective trigger. Action is engraved in "6C" style with well cut scroll within geometric borders surrounding well done non-relief dog scenes; three pointers on left, two setters on right, and portrait of a hound with gold inlaid collar on bottom. Makers name and patent "1902" are on trigger plate. Trigger guard is high relief gold inlaid "William Wagner" in signature script. SN is on tang. Relief gold bird is inlaid on top lever. What appears to be orig, nicely figured and lightly marbled European walnut, fluted hard rubber capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over Silver type buttplate. Side panels are checkered and have lozenge shaped drop points. Point pattern grip checkering has flourishes toward butt separated by ribbons from main portion of checkering. A vacant silver shield is at rear of comb. Matching splinter ejector forend has schnabeled ebony tip and knurled rolled release. Bore diameter: left -.733, right - .733. Bore restrictions: left - .022 (mod), right - .018 (mod). Wall thickness: left - .032, right - .028. Drop at heel: 3", drop at comb: 1-3/4". Cast: neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 13 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". Ivory bead sight. PROVENANCE: Lifetime Lefever Arms Collection of Scott Lefever. CONDITION: Excellent, as refurbished and refinished. All metal parts retain nearly all of their sympathetic and newly applied finishes. Stocks retain nearly all of a hand rubbed oil finish over numerous marks and scratches, some fairly deep. Checkering re-cut. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors and single trigger are presently working, except trigger will not select.
