CUTE A.H. FOX CE GRADE 20 GAUGE GAME GUN. A. H. FOX CE 203146 20 GA MODERN; IVORY Cal. 20 ga. 3" chambers (extended to this length). 28" Chromox bbls with full length matted top rib with twin ivory beads. Right bbl marked "CHROMOX COMPRESSED FLUID STEEL". Left bbl "MADE BY A.H. GUN CO. PHILA, PA U.S.A." Approximately 1" wedge of scroll at breech. No. 4 WT bbls. Water table with SN and grade designation. Dbl triggers, automatic ejectors, non-automatic safety. Nicely figured straight grained walnut stock with rnd pistol grip, checkered side panels, and checkered in 2-point pattern is an extremely well done replacement ending in a thin Silvers type red recoil pad. Slender splinter forearm checkered in 2-point pattern with geometric design engraved Deeley latch and triangular ebony tip. Receiver is nicely engraved in typical C-pattern, woodcock on right, quail on left, surrounded with light scroll engraving and marked "ANSLEY H. FOX". Bottom of receiver with setter in game scene and trigger plate with bust of finely cut scroll. Trigger guard bow nicely scroll engraved with banner and name "C.A. ELSTONE" in banner and SN noted at tang. Top of frame, breech balls and top lever lightly scroll engraved. Bore diameter: left - .621, right - .615. Bore restrictions: left - .033 (full), right - .013 (mod). Minimum wall thickness: left - .020, right - .027 . Weight: 6 lbs. 2 oz. Drop at comb: 1-5/16", drop at heel: 2-7/16". LOP: 14-7/8". CONDITION: Excellent overall as partially refurbished. Bbls retain nearly all of an excellent high quality professionally restored blue. Buttstock and forearm are high quality near imperceptible replacements and retain virtually all of their custom finish. Checkering is crisp. Receiver retains 35-40% nice orig case color mostly on sides, toned on bottom. Trigger guard has been re-blued and retains nearly all of that finish with engraving lightly thinned. Bores are excellent, near mirror. Ejectors are in time. Mechanics are crisp, though right bbl is ever so slightly off face. A very pretty and usable high grade small bore Fox with longer bbls and dbl triggers. 50767-1 JSL (7,500-12,500)
