RARE .410 BROWNING SUPERPOSED PRESENTATION P4W SUPERLIGHT SHOTGUN ENGRAVED BY ERNST AND VOSS WITH ORIGINAL BOX.BROWNINGOU P4W SUPERLIGHTP83RR1432410MODERN; IVORYCal. 410. 3" Chambers. 26-1/2" Bbls marked for IC and Mod, have Morgan Utah and Montreal PQ addresses and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on top bbl to left of narrow matted ventilated rib. Coin finished, small sized, OU Superlight rounded action with ornamental sideplates is specially filed with beads around bottom, and features usual gold-plated selective single trigger. Action is engraved with near full coverage large open acanthus and scroll similar to that found on "Diana" grade guns, surrounding semi-relief carved scene of gold inlaid quail flying across opening in woods on bottom. Sideplates are engraved with more scroll surrounding ovate game scenes with subjects relief gold inlaid; a nye of pheasant, two sitting, two walking, and one flying are on left plate; and four ducks, one swimming, one walking toward water, and two taking wing from pond, are on right. Both bird scenes are signed "L. Ernst" at bottoms. Engraving is signed "E Voss" at bottom of pheasant scene. Trigger guard has bust of a pointer on bow. Superb side-on burl figured American walnut straight grip Superlight buttstock measures 14-3/8" over skip line checkered wood butt, and has typical "Midas" grade checkering at grip. Special order 3-pc Superlight forend matches well. Bore diameter at muzzles: top -.394, bottom - .399. Drop at heel: 2-5/16", drop at comb: 1-3/8". Cast: approx 1/2" off. Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz. LOP: 14-3/8". This fine gun comes in its orig shipping box with correct end label. Twin ivory bead sights. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of light field use, with some handling and assembly marks on wood and metal finishes. Mechanically crisp. Box is fine, with some tape repairs on one corner, and label is faded. A scarce Browning with only 35 produced in .410. 50594-71 mgm96 (20,000-30,000)
