BROWNING "POINTER" GRADE SHOTGUN ENGRAVED BY LEGIERS WITH EXTRA BARRELS AND HARTMANN CASE.BROWNINGOU POINTER1875820GAMODERN; C&R(1960) Cal. 20 ga. Two sets of bbls one 26" marked for "skeet" and "skeet", the other 28" marked for "mod" and "full" have St. Louis and Montreal addresses, as well as steel and chamber information on left side of narrow, ventilated rib, and with patent numbers and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on right. Coin finished action with typical single selective gold trigger is engraved in usual "Pointer " style with well cut scroll, surrounding vignettes of dogs; pointer retrieving a duck on left, and another pointer retrieving a pheasant on right. A pair of quail (?) are on bottom of action, and two pheasant, one on the ground, the other flushing, are on trigger guard bow. Both dog scenes are signed "Legiers". Nicely marbled European walnut round knob long tang pistol grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over composition buttplate. Typical point pattern checkering is at grip. Field forends match well. 26" BBL SET: Bore diameter: top -.612, bottom - .611. Bore restrictions: top - .008 (IC/ skeet), bottom - .006 (skeet). Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-11/16". Cast: approx 1/4" on. Weight: 6 lbs. 3 oz. LOP: 14-3/8". 28" BBL SET: Bore diameter: top -.612, bottom - .611. Bore restrictions: top - .033 (full), bottom - .017 (mod). Tan Hartmann case with space for both bbl sets, is lined in fuzzy faux fur and contains instruction booklet, case information, and the key, in glassine envelope. PROVENANCE: Factory letter stating it was sold Nov 2, 1960 to Abercrombie & Fitch. Copy of orig invoice. CONDITION: Excellent, appears very close to new, with only a few very light handling marks in all its fine factory finishes, checkering still light in color. Gold of trigger is excellent.
