WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 DELUXE SHORT RIFLE WITH SPECIAL ORDER HUNTING SIGHTS. WINCHESTER 1894 18320 30WCF Cal. .30 WCF. 22" rnd bbl, full mag, ivory bead Lyman patent front sight, Lyman receiver sight. Blue finish, nicely figured American walnut stocks with checkered pistol grip and forend. Smooth steel shotgun buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter dated 12/09/1986, confirming features and showing shipment on 10/02/1897. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl and mag tube retain 50-60% blue finish that is drifting to a smooth plum/brown patina. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is very good. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver retains 50% blue finish with wear at the carry point that is drifting to a plum/brown patina. Lyman receiver sight shows 20% blue finish with clear patent mark. Tang markings are sharp. Hammer and lever both show generous traces of case color especially in protected areas. Stocks are very good, and full sized with only minuscule handling marks overall. Forend shows slight shrinkage. Checkering is sharp with a few mars and scratches. Pistol grip cap is very good. Shotgun buttplate and forend cap shows 20% blue with some staining.
