STANDARD 1968 ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL NATIONAL MATCH PISTOL. COLT ROCK ISLAND 1911 NATIONAL MATCH 1335621 45ACP MODERN; C&R Cal. 45 ACP. Standard 1968 National Match pistol markings in front of slide stop pin "RIA" over "SA" (this is the second rebuild for the pistol), right upper trigger guard bow marked "NM", behind right finger cutout marked "T" (for targeted), a white ink stamp with eagle behind right rear stock in a square, bbl marked ".45 Auto", "NM 7791414" and "5621" (last four digits of SN), bushing marked "NM 7267718", slide marked "NM7791435", remains of "FJA" marking on left side, remains of inspector mark of upper left trigger guard bow, punch mark above mag catch release on left side, and remains of "P" below mag catch release on left side, rear sight is marked "US" on left side, and "Ken Sight" on top of sight. Front grip strap finely checkered. Mainspring housing is serrated. Grip safety and hammer appear to be standard. Front sight has serrated front edge with flat post that has been ground during targeting and is in-the-white. Mag is standard G.I. replacement. 1968 National Match slide built by Colt with slanted serrations in the rear. Full checkered wood stocks. Entire pistol finished in dark Parkerizing except for aluminum trigger.Accompanied by an Arsenal shipping box with last four digits of serial number and dated 5/67 from RIA. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Nearly new as rebuilt, with only a few scuffs marks and drag lines. Very minor edge wear. 51517-12 KXK (4,000-8,000)
