FINE COLLECTOR'S LOT OF EARLY UNDERWOOD AND WINCHESTER M1 CARBINES. US CARBINE, M1 UNDERWOOD M1 CARBINE 2590863 30 MODERN; C&R Cal. 30M1. 18" bbl marked "Underwood 3-44". Stocks have several inspection markings including "GHD" over "UEF" in box with Ordnance wheel "P" in circle on grip, and "RA-P" in box on grip as well. Hand guard has M-U maker marking. Metal component parts are finished in grey/ green phosphate finish. Many early parts include but not limited to, flip sight, push button safety, unmarked magazine release, and type one narrow band. Stocks are early with high wood and 2 rivet hand guard. CONDITION: Very good as possible refinish with a small amount of restoration. The metal finish very good with thinning under the wood line and some evidence of pitting in protected areas at tang and side of receiver below wood line. Operating rod is refinished in a commercial blue finish. Rear sight slot has stake marks indicating later slide sight was present at previous time. Stocks are very good with strong crisp markings. Numerous nicks and abrasions but far better than average. 51389-36 TDW (2,500-3,000)
US CARBINE, M1 WINCHESTER M1 CARBINE 1157971 30 MODERN; C&R Cal30M1. 18" barrel has "W" marking on top. Early "I" cut high wood stocks have Ordnance wheel inspection and WRA GHD inspection on side and 2 rivet hand guard has a almost indecipherable "W" marking on inside. Metal component parts are grey/green phosphate finished. Many early features include, but not limited to, flip sight, flat bolt, push button safety, unmarked magazine release, and type 1 narrow band. Complete with period non-dated web sling and oiler. CONDITION: Very fine as restored with minor refinish evident. Stocks have been lightly sanded at a much earlier time. Barrel shows evidence of refinish and a witness marking from having a bayonet lug equipped type 3 band. 51389-37 TDW (2,500-5,000)
