RARE 18TH CENTURY RIFLED HANNOVER FLINTLOCK PISTOL. HANNOVER F/L PISTOL NSN 15.5MM (60 CAL) Cal. 60 (15.5mm). 18" overall, 11-1/4" rnd bbl with 7 shallow grooves, brass blade front sight. Gun is brass mounted with mouldings at tang, lock and lockplate escutcheon. There are no discernible markings other than a rack number visible on tang. PROVENANCE: Private Lifetime Collection Of A Noted Scholar And Authority. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Gun appears orig and matching. Iron is grey overall with pitting. Brass has a medium mustard patina. European walnut stock has several hairlines one 1/2" putty repair on left side of forestock at front ramrod pipe. There is also a crack on right side of forestock forward of front ramrod pipe. Mechanically functional with pitted bore and wallowed out touchhole. 51627-7 JS (2,500-3,500)
