SUPERIOR DWM ARTILLERY LUGER RIG DATED 1918 INCLUDING SHOULDER BOARD STOCK, HOLSTER AND SNAIL DRUM.DWMLUGER18439MMSHOULDER BOARD STOCK, HOLSTER, SNAIL DRUMMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 8" bbl with slide adjustable rear sight graduated 1-8. Late pattern without fine tuning screws. Rust blue finish overall with straw finish, control levers and trigger. Wood based white steel magazine. Chamber dated 1918. Toggle marked "DWM" with appropriate military proofs and inspection on left side of receiver and bottom of bbl. Rig is complete with its walnut unnumbered shoulder board and 1916 dated holster complete with cleaning rod and later pattern snail drum with "B" over "N" for manufacturer's mark and SN 29968. Snail drum also includes dust cover. Holster and shoulder board rig are complete with shoulder strap. These iconic rigs are rarely found complete and/or in fine condition. This has all those attributes. CONDITION: Extremely fine, with most all finish remaining, with only the slightest amount of finish loss at muzzle from being housed in its holster. A thinning and minor loss of finish at bottom of grip and on stock attaching iron from same holster use. Over 95% of straw finish remains with over 50% of fire blue finish remaining on screws and springs. After detailed disassembly, all visible numbers were found to be matching including firing pin. Wood based magazine and bolt hold open. Mechanics functioning. Bore is bright and sharp. Snail drum retains over 50% blue finish and appears to function properly. Unnumbered shoulder stock is exceptionally fine with almost all finish on iron and straw on locking lever. Holster and straps are very fine with leather still being supple and lined. An outstanding example. 52528-8 TDW (4,000-5,000)
