Standard markings. Chocolate Bakelite grips. Proper phosphate slide release lever, mag catch, firing pin cover, extractor and trigger bar. All matching numbers. Both mags are AC marked. Accompanied by orig SN matching cardboard box, very rare steel cleaning rod, aluminum cleaning kit box, manual. "Boxes were used to contain P38s meant for sale to individual military or other authorized personnel", according to Warren Buxton on p. 230 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine with minute handling marks. All markings crisp and clear. Bore is bright with sharp rifling and light coat of factory grease. Mechanics are crisp; this gun appears unfired. Grips are excellent. Mags do not have any wear on followers.
