SCARCE L.C. SMITH CROWN GRADE 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH CASE.L.C. SMITHCROWNRE 1610412W/CASEMODERN; C&RCal. 12 ga. 32" fluid steel bbls with 2-3/4" chambers, chokes full/full. Full length matted top rib with gold bar near breach and brass front bead. Muzzles are nicely crowned and engraved and there is a wedge of scroll engraving at breach. Hunter One SST automatic ejectors, non-automatic safety. Round knob pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point and wave pattern with 14-1/4" LOP over an older leather faced red pad. Splinter forearm with banjo roll type release and triangular ebony tip is near fully checkered. Receiver is beautifully engraved in typical Crown Grade pattern with game scenes in oval on both sides and gold inlaid Crown on top lever surrounded by well executed rose and scroll engraving. All visible SN's match. Housed in an early leather leg-of-mutton case. WEIGHT: 7lb 12oz. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain approximately 70% of orig blue with evidence of a couple of older repaired dings and beginning pockmark erosion near breach end of bbls. Buttstock and forearm are good and show most of an older restored finish. Checkering has thinned but is mostly visible on butt and has been substantially thinned on forearm with some loose checkering added. Receiver retains approximately 20% orig case color with some staining. Mechanics are fine. Bores are good with beginning pitting in both tubes more so in right.
