ANTIQUE COLT MODEL 1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. COLT SAA 23349 45 COLT Cal. 45 Colt. 7-1/2" bbl. Blue and case color finish. Straight grain American walnut grip. Top of bbl shows correct italic address with broken dies in the correct places. Ejector rod housing is of the correct type with locator stud and housing with no exit for rod. Matching SN appears on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap; last 4 digits of SN appear on bbl under the ejector rod and on the rear periphery of the cylinder. Frame shows correct 2-line Colt Patent mark on forward left side. Cal. mark is stamped on left flat of the trigger guard. Grip was not removed. Cylinder has deep bevels on the front face and large bolt stops with approaches. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl is a smooth silver-grey patina overall, with traces of bright blue in protected areas under the ejector housing. Markings are sharp. Front sight is full sized. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Frame is a silver-grey patina overall and has been cleaned. Hammer shows traces of nickel finish. Trigger guard and backstrap also show slight traces of blue. Grips are very good and are replacements. Cylinder shows 20% of a blue finish drifting to plum-brown. Bushing is free and chambers are clean. Mechanics are functional. An example of an early Colt six-shooter made in 1876 with quite a few early features. 52696-1 TEP (2,000-4,000)
