ANTIQUE COLT MODEL 1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER CIVILIAN ISSUE.COLTSAA9317444 WCFCal. 44 WCF. 7-1/2" bbl, blue and case color finish, 1-pc American walnut grip. Bbl shows correct 1-line Colt Block address rolled on top. Left side of bbl shows slight hints of an etched panel. "44" is stamped on bottom of bbl by frame, which is correct. Frame has 3-line Colt address on forward left side with Cal. mark on forward left bow of trigger guard. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Grip was not removed, ejector rod was not removed. Cylinder shows last 4 digits of SN stamped with small dies on the rear periphery. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl is a mottled grey-brown patina. Markings are sharp. There is a ghost of an etched panel. Bbl is loose. Frame, trigger guard, and backstrap are all a mottled silver-grey patina with evidence of cleaning. Bore is frosty with visible rifling. Grip is very good and fits well with handling marks and dents overall. Cylinder is a deep grey patina, marking is sharp, chambers are dark. Mechanics are functional but needs some attention. An honest early Colt "FRONTIER SIXSHOOTER" made in 1883. 52696-2 TEP (2,000-4,000)
