EARLY COLT 3RD MODEL 1851 PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER. COLT NAVY 3388 36 Cal. 36. Standard configuration made in 1851 with 1-line New York address, 7-1/2" oct bbl with rolled Ormsby naval battle scene. This is an honest "as found" gun, all matching with pleasant dark patina. PROVENANCE: The Confederate and Civil War estate collection of Fred Donaldson. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Metal is a mottled brown with staining and pitting overall. Good markings. Cylinder scene 70% discernible. Brass backstrap and trigger guard retain about half of their orig silver finish. Grips are weathered with chipped toes and slightly undersized fit, not removed to check for matching SN, though all metal parts have matching numbers including loading arm and wedge.
