FABULOUS YET UNDERSTATED .410 GAUGE PIOTTI "KING NUMBER 1" SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. PIOTTI KING MOD 1 7411 410 GA MODERN; IMPORT Cal. .410 ga. 3" Chambers. 26" Chopper lump bbls with slightly raised, hand matted, game rib are engraved "ACCIATO SIAU UM 6" and "FLLI PIOTTI GARDONE VT" on tops. Bbl flats are stamped with SN, 1979 Italian nitro proofs and early Piotti logo. Small sized, coin finished, sidelock action features non automatic safety, bushed strikers, and dbl triggers, front trigger is articulated. Action is engraved with very tasteful, large, floral and foliate flourishes through a full coverage background of well cut very small scroll. Beads and fillets are left unengraved to fine effect. "PIOTTI" is inlaid in gold on bottom left of action, and a sovereign's crown is in gold on top lever. This engraving continues on to trigger guard which has a single beaded small bow. SN is on riband at tang. Engraver's signature "G Ranetti" is on trigger plate. Dark, well marbled and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-7/8" over thin brown leather covered pad. Stock features diamond hand with very well cut, closely spaced, borderless, 2-point pattern checkering. Small well shaped splinter ejector forend has Anson release and Piotti crest inlet in gold on uncheckered central diamond with initials "Le / B". Choked MOD/FULL. Drop at heel: 2-7/16", drop at comb: 1-9/16". Cast: Neutral. WEIGHT: 5 lbs. 6 oz. LOP: 14-7/8". Rich red full leather case with green baize material with nickel plated snap caps and oil bottle, 2-pc cleaning rod, cleaning mop and jags in brown leather pouch. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new with very light handling marks, the gun has maybe seen one trip to the range but remains very near to new condition. Coin finish is excellent with only minor darkened areas on top tang and at grip. Stocks are near mint with only minute handling marks. Checkering is crisp. Bores are brilliant. Action is tight. Mechanics are crisp. Case leather excellent with only very minor handling marks. Interior cloth is excellent, as are accessories. The fine handling qualities of this gun make it a natural for quail.
