RARE AND DESIRABLE BRASS FRAME VOLCANIC RIFLE WITH SCARCE 21 INCH BARREL. VOLCANIC 20 225 41 Cal. 41. 21" bbl is one of the rarer bbl lengths that was offered at that time. Sgl line address with some chemical spill on front portion of bbl that has turned a dark patina. Brass has a light mustard color look with sharp edges on both sides. All numbers match with SN on inside of lower tang. Lovely colored brass frame with untouched appearance. Stock is straight grained American walnut. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine. Brass frame is extremely fine on both left and right sides of receiver. Retains its sharp edges. Brass looks like it has never been cleaned or polished. A fine example of what the brass should look like after 150 years of being cared for. Wood fit is extremely fine with one chip in stock next to receiver on right side. Gun cycles properly. Lever and hammer are muted with some dark blue on trigger. Follower retains nearly all of its original nitre bluing. Mint bore with very strong rifling. Mechanics are fine. Not many Volcanic rifles can match the condition of number 255's frame. Obviously, this lovely rifle saw very little use and was tucked away in a drawer to keep it in such very fine condition. 53091-12 MS (40,000-60,000)
