SUPERB CLASSIC FACTORY ORIGINAL WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 DELUXE RIFLE IN 32 CAL WITH BRILLIANT VIVID CASE COLORED RECEIVER. WINCHESTER 1873 132528 32 Cal. .32. 24-3/8" bbl. Full oct bbl, full mag, standard front bbl sight and standard rear bbl sight. Top bbl marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT. / KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENT MARCH 29, 1866 OCTOBER 16, 1860". Cal marking on top flat of bbl next to receiver "32 CAL". Carrier lifter also marked "32 CAL". Superb fancy American 2-3X walnut w/H-style checkering on stock and forearm and ebony insert in the pistol grip. Factory sling swivels in stock and bottom of the forearm cap. Equipped with a thick base, mid-range veneer sight. Case colored receiver, blued dust cover and a case colored buttplate with no provisions for cleaning rod. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Records Office research sheet confirming all options and shipped Sept 3, 1883. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Excellent. Oct bbl retains 95% blue with minor sharp edges wear only. Mag tube has 85-90% blue with balance turning to patina. Minor scratches on bottom flat of bbl in front of forearm cap on left and right sides indicating the forearm cap was removed. Forearm cap itself has 70% strong case colors overall. Left side receiver is a good 95%+ case colors; vivid in most areas. Right side has 95-96% vivid case colors. Loading gate retains 98% of its niter blue. The lever itself retains 80% case colors on left side and 50% on the right with patina on the high part of bottom of lever. Hammer retains 97% of case color. The bottom tang retains 97% of its case color. Stock with light impressions on left side and light impressions on right side as well. No cracks are visible around tang area and no slivers or chips of wood missing. Finish on wood retains 96-97% of piano finish. Left side forearm has few impressions with no cracks or chips missing from corners. Right side of forearm with very few impressions having minor surface scratches. Dust cover retains 95%+ blue, screw heads on frame look to be untouched except for sideplate screw which is marred. Action is excellent. Bore is excellent.
