OUTSTANDING WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 MUSKET. WINCHESTER 1873 MUSKET 570468 44 WCF MODERN; C&R Cal. 44 WCF. 30" round bbl with correct magazine tube. 3 bbl band with all blued receiver. Dust cover is blued. Hammer, lever, trigger and buttplate are case colored. Screw heads indicate they are case colored and unturned. Carrier lifter marked "44 CAL" and has nice mustard color look. Stock is straight grain American walnut as is the forward musket forearm. With sling swivels mounted in correct position on stock and mounted correctly on one bbl band. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl 99% blue. All bbl bands appear as new condition. Sporting standard musket front and rear sights. Cal marking on top of bbl between rear sight and receiver. Dust cover 99%+ blue. Receiver retains 99%+ blue on both sides. All buffing marks are evident to show it is in orig condition. Loading gate retains 99% of its nitre blue. Hammer retains 99%+ case color with no drag lines. Lever is 99% case colors with evidence of varnish over entire lever. Trigger remains dark case colors. Bright shiny bore rates 9 out of 10. Mechanics are fine. Cycles properly. Stock with very few impressions. Right side of stock with a few light impressions. Wood to metal fit is excellent. A finer 1873 Musket may not exist! 53091-36 MS (5,000-8,000)
