WINCHESTER PRE-64 MODEL 94 EASTERN CARBINE. WINCHESTER 1894 1679040 30WCF MODERN; C&R Cal. 30 WCF. 20" rnd bbl, full magazine, full blue finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks with checkered steel buttplate. Bbl shows Winchester address, Model and Cal. designation rolled on left side at breech beside the sight. "WP" proof is struck at bbl breech and on receiver ring. Front sight is hooded and mounted on a ramp; rear sight is standard sporting type. SN is stamped on bottom of receiver at the front. Upper tang is not marked. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 98% of orig blue finish that is drifting slightly plum toward muzzle. Markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver shows 99% blue finish with some slight high-point wear and a couple of minuscule scratches. Loading gate is slightly scratched. Hammer and lever retain most of the orig blue. Stocks are fine, full sized and show most of the orig varnish finish with only minor handling marks overall. Mechanics are crisp. Buttplate retains most of the blue. Bbl bands also retain most of the blue. A very nice example of a late pre-war Model 94 Eastern carbine made without a saddle ring. 53094-75 TEP (750-950)
