LOUIS VUITTON STEAMER TRUNK.Late 19th-early 20th century, France. A large example of typical form, fully fitted with removable, fabric-lined drawers. The lid with quilted interior retaining the original label noting only two retail locations in Paris and London, the stenciled serial number still visible: 162103. Trunk retains original locks in operational order, original carrying handle still present. SIZE: 22-1/2" h x 43" w x 22" d. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Trunk remains structurally sound, significant soiling and abrasions to exterior. The fitted interior trays present, key is absent.
