TEN STERLING SILVER SALTS, PEPPERS AND CASTER.Lot includes a pair of 3-3/4" Gorham repousse pepper shakers, the sides decorated in a floral motif, the base numbered "2115", date marked 1884. A pair of 4-1/2" pepper shakers, Birmingham 1901. 6" caster by Mappin & Webb, Birmingham 1932. A pair of 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" footed oval boat shaped salts, one marked Canfield & Bro. (Baltimore, MD), the other M.W. Galt Bro. (Washington, DC), each monogrammed "YMG". A pair of 3-/2" x 2-1/2" oval footed open salt frames (no inserts), marked "sterling" and monogrammed on bottom "EPG", some rust or tarnish with one side break. A 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" cobalt glass lined footed salt, the frame hallmarked Chester, 1904, maker's mark "GNRH", the Chippendale style frame having tall ball-and-claw feet, the liner may or may not be original. Weighable silver: 21 troy oz. SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine, descendant of Commodore Stephen Decatur (1779-1820), Captain John Pine Decatur (1786-1832), and Vice Admiral Morton Deyo (1887-1973).
