PAIR OF KNIFEBLADE ANIRONS TOGETHER WITH A LARGE SHOVEL AND 3-PRONG TRIDENT FORM POKER.Late 18th/early 19th century, American. The andirons with flattened iron shafts joined to arched legs, terminating in penny feet, each with a faceted ring-turned and spiral twist brass finial. The shovel with square iron shaft, continuing to a twist middle center and continuing to a straight shaft with flatten spade terminus riveted to the flat shovel with flared sides and with a brass turned finial at head of handle. The unusual trident form poker with cylindrical iron shaft, continuing to three curved tines, the center most spade form. The handle with a brass turned classical urn form handle of the period. CONDITION: End of andiron finials have been reduced in size and burnished, with normal and expected corrosion on dogs and legs. The shovel has old braised brass repairs at shoulders of shovel.
