SILKWORK EMBROIDERY OF A SHEPHERDESS AND SHEEP.Circa 1810, probably America. The embroidery accompanied by the original eglomise panel, which reads "MARY MINOR'S EMBROIDERY. 1810". The pastoral scene in soft hews, depicting a shepherdess wearing a robe or cape with staff carving the initials of her beau into the trunk of a tree while her sheep sleep at her feet. Now mounted in a later frame. SIZE: 16-1/2" h x 12-1/2" w (sight). CONDITION: Generally very good. Minimal deterioration to silk. Subtle earth tones. Overall light surface soiling. Eglomise panel broken in four pieces but accompanies silkwork. 52789-2 HMG (600-700)
