Rarely seen 2nd year production and never seen with condition, this pistol has all correct era parts with the exception of lanyard ring magazine does not have keyhole slot, instead the magazine is a Type III used from serial No. 42000 and up. Correct barrel with "HP" perpendicular to bore which was used from serial No. 25001 and up. Early slide without 1913 patent date. Left side of frame has "WGP" Walter Penfield inspector stamp on oval. Early Type I front and rear sights. Other early features include short wide spur checkered hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, long smooth trigger, flat mainspring housing with lanyard, diamond checkered walnut grips. CONDITION: Slide exhibits high edge and muzzle wear. Frame exhibits high edge wear along with spot on trigger guard and some freckling on grip strap. Overall, still a good 90-93% all factory original finish with razor sharp edges and legends. Excellent grips. Strong, clean, well defined bore and fine action.
