This is Second Model manufactured 1876 to 1877 for the US Government. Nickel plated after its release through resale to private dealer. This revolver was named after Colonel George Schofield. It is a six shot, single action built on top break frame. The butt is stamped "US" with serial number. Matching serial numbers can be found on cylinder along with inspector mark "PM". Bottom of barrel has inspector stamp "WP". Gun is fully nickel plated and sports a pair of two piece walnut grips with no visible cartouche. Right grip is stamped with matching serial number "8619". CONDITION: Overall, this revolver retains 95% of its reapplied nickel finish. Indexes and locks up like new. Rifling is well defined but does have some usual black powder abrasion. Gun does not appear to have been fired since plating. A really nice old nickel plated Schofield.
