Manufactured 1876 to 1877 only. This is the 2nd Model with 3,036 manufactured, issued to the United States Army. Features sighting groove in top rib and walnut grips. Patent dates on left side of barrel. "US" on butt. "P" stamped under barrel. Matching serial number on back of cylinder. CONDITION: Gun is basically grey patina with no original finish. Two piece walnut grips are worn with no cartouche visible. All legends are sharp. Indexes but cylinder does not lock; needs mechanical attention. Strong lands and frosted grooves with minor abrasion. Good condition overall; a good representative piece.
