(1972) 25 -1/2" Tapered round barrel is fitted with dovetailed rear sight mounting base, sleeved-on front ramp with sourdough bead, and is ported to minimize recoil. Rear portion is marked with December 1972 nitro proofs, caliber, and "Original MAUSER". Unique large sized telescoping action is marked with serial number and "MAUSER - WERKE" information on left side. Patent information is on right. Action is fitted with double set triggers. Nicely fiddle figured European walnut pistol grip high Monte Carlo stock measures 15-3/8" over black Pachmayr white line pad. Stock features Tyrolean right hand cheekpiece, skip line checkering, walnut forend tip, and sling loops. Rifle is fitted with Zeiss Diavari - D 1.5 - 6 X rail scope with fine post and crosshair reticle in claw mounts and bases. Weight with scope: 9 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, but with evidence of considerable field use. Metal parts retain approximately 95% original blue with high edge wear and light marks and scratches. Wood retains 80% original finish with high areas rubbed through, and with many marks associated with moderate field use. Bore appears to be excellent, but is quite dirty. Scope has marks and rubs in original lacquer. Optics need attention. Lenses are out of alignment. MGM 78
