Stamp engraved Goulcher back action percussion lock with stamp engraved game birds. Brass furniture including a wear plate on the forearm and a four piece plain brass patch box. Eight pointed silver star inlaid above the cheek piece, and silver inlays on each side of the forearm. Right side inscribed "AGS". The rifle features double set triggers. Full length figured maple stock of familiar Huntingdon County form. Associated hickory ramrod. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and lock retain a brown patina with some scattered marks from use, with corrosion at breech and on bulster. Hammer does not stay cocked. Brass retains a dark patina, nose cap with some denting, and circular silver inlay on left side of forearm has been replaced. Stock shows some scattered marks from use, a crack at the toe and some damage to forend on left side. A very nice Huntingdon County bench rifle.
